Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
NOTE: TAB is full for the 2024-2025 school year. New applicants will be considered in summer 2025.
Do you have ideas for new library programs or services? Are you interested in presenting your own programs at the library? TAB is a volunteer and advisory group of dedicated teens in grades 8-12 who work with librarians to make recommendations and help develop and present new programs together. This is a leadership role that requires time and commitment. Members must be able to attend monthly meetings where they will be expected to propose and evaluate ideas for new programs. Bring your creativity, have your voice heard, make new friends, and grow your leadership skills while earning community service hours.
TAB Participation Requirements:
1. Complete the Teen Volunteer application.
To join TAB you must be in Grades 8-12 and have a Moorestown Library card in your own name. Your parent or guardian must also sign your Teen Volunteer application (located on the bottom of this page).
2. Register for TAB meetings.
Participation in TAB is limited and you must register in advance for each TAB meeting in order to attend. Commit to attend TAB meetings. Plan to attend at least 8 monthly meetings per year. TAB meets once a month all year long. Meetings are generally the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30-7:30 pm. TAB members please use the TAB Signup Genius (button below) to register for each month’s meetings.
3. Contribute beyond TAB meetings.
TAB members must commit to work on a TAB project of their choice outside of the monthly meetings (Golden Gazette literary magazine, Anime Club, Chess Club, Crafts for Kids, or propose your own idea!).
Other ways to get involved:
- If you want to volunteer sometimes, but don’t want to commit to TAB, complete the application to be a teen volunteer (located on the bottom of this page). We’ll send you opportunities you can sign up for.
- If you would to present a program at the library but don’t want to commit to TAB, complete the Teen Volunteer Program Proposal (located at the bottom of this page). TAB will discuss your idea at their next meeting. If they like it, you’ll be invited to come pitch your proposal at an upcoming TAB meeting. You will still need to fill out a teen volunteer application (located at the bottom of this page) to be considered as a program presenter.
Please click the button below to fill out and submit your teen volunteer application. If you are a member of TAB, use the TAB button to volunteer for upcoming TAB programs and signup for monthly meetings.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
Summer Volunteer – The library needs volunteers to help us run our Summer Reading program. Volunteers listen to children report books, hand out prizes, and help with special projects such as programs or craft prep as needed. If you have completed the volunteer application (located on the bottom this page), you will receive an email the end of the school year to select your days and times through Signup Genius. Volunteers sign up for 2 or 3 hour shifts. You may select 1-2 shift per day and up to a limited number for the summer. Later, if space permits, you will be invited to sign up for additional shifts. This volunteer program is only available during the summer months.
Library Volunteer (Special Projects) – Throughout the school year, the library needs volunteers to help with special projects such as book sales or children’s programs. We keep a list of volunteers and invite them to sign up for these opportunities through the Teen Library Volunteer Signup Genius. If you have completed the volunteer application (located below this page) and it has been accepted, you are on the list. You may select up to a limited number of volunteer slots for the school year. Later, if space permits, you will be invited to sign up for additional shifts.
NOTE: The teen library volunteer program uses Signup Genius for students to sign up for volunteer slots. The student’s email provided in your teen volunteer application is where all notifications will be sent and is the only email that will be accepted when you sign up. The expectation is that students will show up for all volunteer time slots they sign up for. If you cannot, as soon as possible, please cancel the volunteer time slot through Signup Genius or email the Youth Services Librarians at youth@moorestownlibrary.org. Students who miss 2 volunteer time slots without any notification to the library will be taken off the volunteer list and TAB (if a member) until they speak with the Head of Youth Services, Jen Dunne, about their situation.
Getting Credit for Your Volunteer Work
You will need to fill out your school’s community service hours form and email it to youth@moorestownlibrary.org. We will check your hours and email you back a signed copy.
