Exhibits Policy
As part of Moorestown Library’s mission of strengthening our community by inspiring and supporting learning, literacy, creativity, and expression, it is a pleasure for us to provide rotating exhibition spaces for local artists and nonprofits.
Flyers announcing non-profit community activities for cultural purposes may be submitted to the Library for display on the Community Bulletin Board.
Policies
1. No exhibit or promotional literature may be placed in the Library without permission of the Library Director, or his/her designated representative.
2. The following exhibits, posters and promotional literature will not be permitted under any circumstances:
- Advertisement for a profit-making business
- Advertisement for anything for sale by an individual or a business
- Materials that specifically endorse one or more political parties or candidates in any local, state, or federal election.
- Any religious materials endorsing or advertising a specific faith or religious service to promote that faith except for nonprofit religious organizations may promote events that are strictly social or charitable in nature including charity events and community dinners.
- Religious materials that endorse or denigrate any faith or religion pertaining to one party or one faith, other than such strictly social functions as church suppers.
3. Groups desiring to exhibit in the Lobby Display Case, Community Gallery Space, or Teen Art Space must complete an Artist/Exhibitor Agreement Form. If the exhibit is approved, a mutually agreeable date for the mounting of the exhibit will be arranged. All items should be brought to the Library at the prearranged time and removed by the exhibitor at the predetermined time for removal.
4. Exhibits usually are rotated monthly. However, duration of the exhibit is at the discretion of the Library Director.
5. No item can be sold at the Library. However, the exhibitor may provide contact information where he/she may be contacted for information on purchasing items.
6. The exhibitor should be prepared to arrange his/her own exhibit within the assigned space and supply all necessary accessories.
7. The Moorestown Library does not carry insurance to cover exhibits; thus, all items are displayed at the exhibitor’s risk.
Space Available:
Community Gallery Space: Wall space, approximately 23 feet long X 9 Feet high. Supplied with adjustable wires and hooks.
Lobby Display Case with adjustable glass shelves: Two compartments, each 68″ high x 32 1/2″ wide x 18″ deep; divider in middle. Located in Library Lobby.
Teen Art Space: One shelf 180” long (five 36” spaces) x 9” deep. This space is reserved for teen exhibitors.
Bulletin Board: Cork-board space for posting flyers and posters.

Thank you for your interest in displaying at the Moorestown Library. This agreement is designed to inform patrons of the resources available for the exhibit and to provide guidelines for installation that protect the display space from damage. Violation of the agreement may result in the cancellation of the exhibit.

General information
- Length of show is one calendar month (1st of month through the end of the month.) Dates and times must be arranged in advance with the Adult Services Desk.
- The exhibitor is responsible for installing and removing their exhibit within the arranged time frame during the hours that the library is open.
- The exhibitor will hold Moorestown Library harmless for any damage done to the artwork or exhibit while on display.
- Prospective exhibitors should keep in mind that the display spaces are in an open part of the library and will be viewable by patrons of all ages. Exhibits are subject to review by The Library Board of Trustees and/or Library Director.
Installation information
- Labels, posters, or other items may not be affixed to the walls or furniture.
- All items not hung on the wall or displayed on the table must be removed from the library. (Exhibit equipment, transport cases, or extra artwork may not be stored in the library.)
- Community Art Gallery:
- Artists may only hang artwork using the hanging system of wire and hooks (24) already installed on the wall. The wall is 23 feet long X 9 feet high.
- All pieces must be professionally framed (except for canvas) and ready to hang.
- A small table may be used to provide price lists, business cards or other artist information.
- There is an 8 ½ x 11 frame available to display the title of the show and a short biography of the artist.
- Lobby Display Case has two compartments, each 68” high X 32 ½” wide X 18” deep; divider in the middle.
- Teen Art Space: One shelf in the Young Adult Books area, 180” long X 9” deep. (This space is reserved for teen exhibitors only.)
Publicity
The Moorestown Library may promote the exhibition through social media accounts with the exhibitor’s cooperation. The exhibitor may provide the library with a digital image, brief bio (100 words or less), and contact info (email or social media account) by email at least four weeks before the exhibit is scheduled for display (email adult@moorestownlibrary.org ).
Sales
The Library will not promote the sale of artwork and sales may not be conducted within the library. Artists may post pricing and contact information so that library patrons can contact them privately to discuss the sale or use of their work.
To inquire about exhibiting at the library, kindly fill out the form provided below. Alternatively, you can download and complete the Artist/Exhibitor Agreement Form. Once filled, please submit it either by emailing it to the Adult Services Desk at adult@moorestownlibrary.org or by returning a printed copy in person.
