These images of Moorestown were taken from glass plate negatives housed at the library since the 1970’s. The majority of the pictures were taken by Moorestown photographer William H. Roberts between 1880-1912 and show Moorestown as it was in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
With the assistance of the Athanaeum of Philadelphia and the generous support of the Friends of the Moorestown Library, the library digitized the images to provide access to historical researchers and the interested public while protecting the fragile artifacts themselves. We have transferred the original glass plates to the Historical Society of Moorestown. If you are interested in obtaining a print of any of these images, please contact the Historical Society.
